What do I have planned for my future Korea car camping trips?

Honestly… it’s a bit embarrassing to say this, but I really don’t have any plans.

By nature, I’ve always been spontaneous, so even when I travel, I’m not the type to plan everything in detail.

However, this trip has two clear purposes.

First, to set my vision and future.

Ever since I was young, I’d dreamed of becoming a chef. But when I finally achieved that dream, I found myself in a harsh, cutthroat environment—so different from what I had imagined. I was caught off guard, and I was discouraged. Having spent my whole life chasing the title of “chef,” I had never even considered another path. Through this trip, I hope to find at least a spark of inspiration for what I want to do to make a living from here on.

Second, to find an answer to the question, ‘What is life, and what is happiness?’

This is something I’ve been asking myself since I was a child, but to this day, I still haven’t found the answer. Maybe, through this journey, I’ll be able to find at least a hint.

This trip comes with its own theme.

When I was in my second year of high school, I watched a film called Hector and the Search for Happiness. It’s about a psychiatrist named Hector who sets off on a journey to find happiness, jotting down every insight he discovers in a little notebook as he grows wiser about life.

That 18-year-old me was so deeply moved by the movie that, just like Hector, I started writing down a single line in a small notebook every time I felt I had learned a truth about life.

Over time, I collected about thirty of these “truths,” and then, somehow, I completely forgot about them. A few days ago, while tidying my room, I stumbled upon that notebook by chance.

I was curious—what kind of insights did I have back then?—but I decided to save the moment for the right time.

And now, I think that time has come.

Every morning on this trip, I’ll open to just one page.I’ll read one truth.

Then I’ll spend the whole day traveling and thinking deeply about it.

I want to see how my thoughts have changed over the past five years—or how they’ve stayed the same.

As I write this, I swear I haven’t read a single line yet, so I have no idea what’s inside.

Through this journey, I want to revisit the mind of my past self, understand my present self, and freely imagine the person I want to become.
